Post No. 22 : Another Year Older

Yes! It’s finally my BIRTHDAY! How do I feel about it? I’m pretty happy about it but it will definitely be a tad different that I will never be a teen again. Haha. I’m sure things will get better. This blog is just going to be me reminiscing about my teenage years.

This will take me back to elementary school. Those were good years to be honest. I met some girls and they became my best friends. Then I realized that I was a “popular” girl. Wow right? Didn’t expect that now did you? Anyways, it went from being a popular girl to a slight outcast with some cool friends. High school wasn’t TOO rough but it was weird. I was trying to find my place and I think I finally found it by the end of the year in grade 9. Then pretty much for the next three years in high school, I met some great high school friends who I still talk to now and invite to all my events of life. I slowly grew up, knew what I wanted to do, made some smart/dumb choices, solid group of friends, and then applied for post secondary. Yeah, I didn’t get in university like my parents wanted to but I’m glad I went to college.

First year of college was pretty easy and slightly boring. But it gave me some time to realize what was my true passion, what I was good at, and learn some cool things on the way. I met some interesting people and now am going to school for something I absolutely love. I just completed a portfolio and put together my print competition pictures and I’m quite content about them. They’re amazing in my eyes and I’m getting compliments left and right. It feels really good to do what I love.

Now, school is on the side, what about the rest of my life? Well I learned to not be so naïve. Haha. Learn to take care of myself in any way possible; physically and mentally. Learn to be caring, loving, and a lot more towards my friends and just anyone I meet in general. There is so much more I can really say but let’s just keep it short; I am so happy I am who I am today after 20 years.

Thanks.

Post No. 21 : What's that you say?

Hello everyone. Jeez, it’s been almost a month since i’ve blogged so...hiiiii ^_^. Okay, so here is a little update on my life ; I’ve been caught up with school and work and getting things done early or on time and working on Print Comp and my portfolio AH! So much stuff to do. Oh also, I have to start doing research for TWO different group presentations and working on a photojournalism essay. BLAH! I better get right on top of that. Anyways, two “beefs’ but nothing too serious.

The other day I was sitting on the bus with my friend Cassy and we were just sitting there, minding our own business. These two girls sitting in front of us were just talking away loudly about random things and at one point, we saw one of the local soliders walking around in his uniform and she goes to say “That is so stupid. Why would you walk around in your uniform?”, “Why are their uniforms green? It’s not like there is a forest here in Canada. They should be different colours, maybe white or something”, “You don’t need an education to shoot a gun, I could do it if it was up to me”, “What are these retreats they go on? They don’t do anything other than hang out with each other”. Etc etc.

Why would this girl say something like that?! I don’t exactly understand what her prerogative is but that was uncalled for and unnecessary. There isn’t a problem with people walking around in their uniforms. It’s a thing called Pride. People have pride in what they are doing for their country. The colour of the uniform, duh, when will the Canadian Army be fighting IN Canada. Idiot. Don’t need an education to shoot a gun? Maybe not but those guys know their stuff. Pretty sure that is why they are there learning about different things. Ugh. Retreats, they probably don’t tell you anything important because it wasn’t “exciting” in their mind. Why not talk about the funny things that happen inbetween each course and stuff. Ya know?

Anyways, that’s really it for now. I’ll type some other fun stuff later. MY BIRTHDAY! W00T! =]

Thanks.
